Progression Video Filming - Belco

Started filming for my progression video today. Eliot and me hit up Belco for a few hours. We got straight into it, getting some good filming done. I also worked into showing progression in how I build up to bigger movements.

The session didn't end on the brighest note. When doing the cat pass to arm jump at the library, I bashed the palm of my hand on the wall, when finishing the arm jump. It's a bit bruised, hopefully it's nothing serious.

There is still a few more things I want to film in belco, which I will have to go do at a later date.

ruoF Filming

I didn't plan on doing any training yesterday, but found myself getting filmed for ruoF's media assignment. He was making a music video. We filmed around civic, hitting up toast, noise wall, dewer, and various spots along the way. It was a good session, lasting a few hours.

APA Belco Class + Belco Training

Taught a class in Belconnen today. It was a really good class. We only had 16 participants, and didn't make that much money, but we're getting better as instructors. I think that we have finally developed a good format to run our classes. All we have to do now is get better as instructors. I invited Rus to come along, to see how we were as instructors. He said that we did a good job, but there is still room for improvement, as there should be. I got Eliot to film the class, so that we can see how we look as instructors from a third person perspective. Bringing a jug of water was a big hit. We're really starting to improve in how we run the classes.

Afterwards, a few of us hung around for some training. I tried a few new things. I got the cat pass to arm jump off the bridge at the library. My climb ups are also improving. I think I may have the confidence to try the arm jump at the derro apartments. So far only Ruz has tried it, yet along achieved it.

I also met a stuntman who's friends with Jarrod. I'd met him before, at a jam last year. He said that he's building a warehouse for stuntmen, and would like traceurs to use it as well. We'll see what develops from here, but it would be good if we got an indoor area that we could train at, then slowly bring classes to.

Overall it was an awesome day, and at the end of it I was exhausted.

FNC

Had FNC two nights ago. It was a good session, and I was exhausted at the end.

Civic Training

Met up with Josh, Hef and ruoF today for some training in civic. It was hard training in the heat, as energy was used up quickly.

I got a new cat pass to precision in toast. How I built up to it was good, as I started with doing the cat-pass, then "craning" it, then actually doing the cat pass to precision. I did it a few times, to make sure I could. I think even stuck the landing, once or twice.

I tried the tree lathce at noise wall. I couldn't get it, but I'll just have to keep on trying.

I got some good advice from Ruz, when we met him yesterday. I didn't actually hear him say it, but Josh told me it today. Ruz said, that as we've been training for three years now, we should be looking for newer and more advanced things to do. This makes a lot of sense, and I have found that I am startign to do a lot of new things. Bigger things too. I know that there is more out there for me to try, and I'm starting to develop the mental confidence to actually try. The progression video should be good for me to try new things, or at least make some progression to them.

Belco Training

Met up with Ruz, Josh and Conan yesterday for some training in belco. Hit up a few spots, just like old times. I also got a few things for the first time. This included proper climbs and double cat passes. My climb ups have a lot of room for improvement, but I can do them properly now. I've also found an arm jump in the derro apartments, that I can progress up to.

FNC

Had FNC tonight. It wasn't at as great an intensity as last week. We got rained out. I am finding that I can do the exercises a lot easier, which shows that my fitness is improving.

Holder Gym Parkour

Went to Holder gym last night. Did a bit of this and that. We even taught some guys cat-passes. The major focus of the session ended up being double cat passes. The difference for this time from the others, is that we got the whole floor space. We set up the blocks without any crash mats, for the first time. The biggest distances we hit were 7 feet. We got some footage of it too, to show everyone how big we've been doing them.

Parkour Progression Videos

I've decided to start documenting my progression in training through parkour progression videos. If I make one every couple of months, I will be able to get a good idea as to how my training has progresses over time.

I'll start filming the first one after my uni exams finish.

APA Basics Class - Civic

Taught a class today. It was raining in the beginning, but we still had an okay turnout, 14 people. We're getting the warmups done properly. We worked on cat passes and precisions. The conditioning, that everyone hates. They'll later understand how important conditioning is. We made it a free class, as the conditions were pretty dodgy. Overall it was a good lesson.

Friday Night Conditioning (FNC)

Friday Night Conditioning (FNC) last night was awesome. I was able to really push myself. Everybody was able to push themselves at whatever level they were comfortable with. I was even able to get the stair pushup wheelbarrows. I felt so good after getting it. If I can do this on a regular basis, I know that it will help me dramatically. It will help me both with my parkour as well as PT.

Holder Gym Parkour

Went to Holder gym last night. Did some more big stuff. I think that I am starting to get confident enough to try double cat passes outside. I know the perfect block to try them on first. I also got my reverse cat passes back. I even tried some cat pass to precisions on the beams. I need to practice them on the lower beam more, then I'll move up to the level beam.
